Meet Muhammad Abdulrahman

Born in 1979 in Hayma Dakhiliya, Muhammad Abdulrahman grew up in the coffee fields, following a family tradition that he continues to this day. From his father, he learned the art of harvesting and watering coffee trees, skills that brought him both comfort and purpose.

Muhammad’s day begins early. He heads to the farm at dawn and works until sunset, finding peace in the rhythm of tending his trees. His passion for coffee is tied to its heritage, and the sight of the trees during rain and harvest fills him with pride.

Challenges are few but persistent. Water shortages and winter damage can hurt the crops, and Muhammad has faced these by repairing pipes and shared tanks, often at the cost of personal hardship.

He is driven by the hope that his children will continue the legacy. Muhammad sees a bright future for coffee farming, aiming to replace qat trees with coffee and push for prices that reflect the effort involved.
