Tropical Fresh – Colombia – Filter Coffee
As part of Caffeine Lab’s mission to empower coffee farmers and producers, we partnered with Cafe1959 to process select cherries from farms across Colombia. This lot is the result of that collaboration, reflecting innovation, precision, and dedication to quality.
The journey begins in Huila, where freshly harvested cherries are placed in Grain-Pro bags for a 13-hour nighttime trip to Quindio. Traveling at night helps control temperature during the first stage of fermentation inside the truck.
Upon arrival, the cherries rest for 24 hours, then undergo a 48-hour anaerobic fermentation in closed tanks. Following this process, they are slow-dried under shade for 40 days, allowing the coffee to develop its tropical sweetness and layered complexity.
