Nova Coee Washing Station is located in Bukure Sector, Gicumbi District in the Northern Province of Rwanda, around Muhazi Lake. The station works with 1,606 smallholder farmers who grow Arabica Red Bourbon coffee at elevations between 1700 and 2000 m a.s.l. Among them, 501 farmers are organized in a cooperative, while the others are organized into 33 small farmer groups. Farmers carefully handpick ripe cherries and deliver them to the washing station the same day.
